    Landstuhl Regional Medical Center

U.S. Army Col. Michael Weber, commander, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, interacts with U.S. Navy Cmdr. Jason Johnson (background on monitor), director of surgical services, Expeditionary Medical Facility Djibouti, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, and the first patient connected from EMF Djibouti to LRMC via virtual health technology recently implemented at the U.S. Navy’s EMF, Aug. 28. The secured connection allows over 300 physicians in over 40 medical specialties at LRMC the ability to make face-to-face medical consultations with patients at EMF Djibouti, enhancing the EMF’s capability and virtually deploying LRMC physicians to Service Members throughout Africa. LRMC is the largest American medical center outside the United States and the only American College of Surgeons verified Level III Trauma Center overseas.
