The Mexican navy frigate ARM Hermenegildo Galeana (F 202) is underway during a passing exercise with the littoral combat ship USS Independence (LCS 2) following a port visit to Manzanillo, Mexico. Galeana is the former U.S. Navy frigate USS Bronstein (FF 1037). Bronstein was commissioned June 1963, decommissioned in 1990, then transferred to the Mexican navy in 1993 and began active service as Galeana in 2012. Independence is underway for the ship's maiden voyage to San Diego.
