U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venom helicopters assigned with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron-167 fire the M134 GAU-17/A Gatling gun during a Deployment For Training (DFT) at MacDill Air Force Base on August 15, 2019. The purposes of HMLA-167’s DTF training is to conduct expeditionary operations training in a medium-to-high threat environment while increasing readiness rating and building precision guided munition employment proficiency in their aircraft.
