A Downed Aircraft Recovery Team formed by Task Force Spearhead, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, prepares to remove one of the main rotor blades of an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter at the remote Forward Operating Base Chaghcharan, April 12. The Apache was grounded due to damage in the rotor blade which was discovered after it received fuel at the small Lithuanian run base. The DART consisted of maintainers from two companies within their task force as well as maintainers from the Forward Logistics Element, 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st ACB. With hard work and dedication, the mission was a success and the Apache was flown back to FOB Shindand.
