Sgt. Jose Rosa, a native of Puerto Rico, a squad leader for Forward Logistics Element, 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, walks a Spydercrane from a CH-47F Chinook helicopter that was flown in to help recover a grounded AH-64D Apache attack helicopter at Forward Operating Base Chaghcharan, April 12. Rosa was part of the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team which Task Force Spearhead formed in order to recover the Apache that was grounded due to damage in the rotor blade. The crack was discovered after it received fuel at the small Lithuanian run base. The DART consisted of maintainers from two companies within their task force as well as maintainers from the 615th FLE. With hard work and dedication, the mission was a success and the Apache was flown back safely to FOB Shindand.
