190815-N-SE292-0001 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 15, 2019) Thirty-three Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTI) candidates and WTI staff pose for a group photo upon completion of Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center’s instructor and tactics course (I/TC). I/TC is the first stage of WTI qualification and is completed ahead of advanced training in warfare specialty areas – amphibious warfare (AMW), anti-submarine warfare/ surface warfare (ASW/SUW), integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) and mine warfare (MIW) – the first five students in the inaugural MIW WTI program. As a subordinate of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, SMWDC’s exists to increase the lethality and tactical proficiency of the surface force across all domains.
