    82nd Combat Aviation Brigade

U.S. Army 1st Lt. Richard Schubert, native of Grafton Ohio, platoon leader with 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, performs a post flight check after receiving the Army’s newest AH-64E Apache attack helicopter on Fort Bragg, Aug. 14, 2019. 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade receives their initial fielding of the new Echo Model Apache, replacing the previous generation's Delta Apache helicopter. While not the first in the Army, they are the first on Fort Bragg to receive these new aircraft. The AH-64E is designed to increase power margins, reliability and lethality to ensure the Apache is a viable combat fighting force in Large Scale Combat Operations. The AH-64E is considered the bridging strategy to Future Vertical Lift. The unit currently has Apache aviators in training to fly the new aircraft, and those pilots will soon bring this dynamic capability to the Global Response Force. Equipment modernization is a key component to winning tomorrow's fight, and the 82nd Airborne Division is leading the way in this effort. (Photo by Staff Sgt. Sharon Matthias)
