West Virginia Army National Guard Staff Sgt. William “Billy” Friese of the 821st Engineer Company, 1092nd Engineer Battalion, 111th Engineer Brigade, was laid to rest in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Aug. 2, 2019. Friese passed away in Camp Buehrig, Kuwait, from a non-combat related incident July 18, 2019, while serving in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Edwin Wriston)
