Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Marines and United States Marines rehearse a beach assault at Tagkawayan Beach, Palawan, Republic of the Philippines during Exercise Balikatan 2012 (BK12) April 21, 2012. BK12 is an annual bilateral training exercise aimed at improving Republic of the Philippines and U.S. military force interoperability during planning, contingency, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. The Philippine Marines have been training alongside their U.S. counterparts for the past five days. The rehearsal was conducted in preparation for a company-size mock beach assault.
