Padilla spoke about what a great opportunity it is to train alongside the Philippine Marine Corps and noted both services’ hard work during Balikatan 2012 (BK12). BK12 is an annual bilateral training exercise aimed at improving Republic of the Philippines and U.S. military force interoperability during planning, contingency, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. Padilla is the commanding general of 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
