U.S. Marine Cpl. Zackery Hughes, a water support technician with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, fills Soldado de Fuerzas Especiales de Honduras (Honduran Marine) Carlos Martinez Torres’s water jugs during a water purification operation in Base Naval de Puerto Castilla, Honduras, Aug. 9, 2019. The purpose of the operation is to provide potable water to U.S. and Honduran service members at Base Naval de Puerto Castilla. The task force is conducting training and engineering projects alongside partner nation military forces in Central and South America. The unit is also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in the event of a hurricane or other emergencies in the region. Hughes is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
