JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 2, 2019) – Alisa Davis, a certified lactation nurse at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, mentors Lt. Kayla Hennen in breastfeeding her newborn child. Davis, a native of Sarasota, Florida, says “Our goal is to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies. I take great pride in helping moms nurture their babies. Mother's milk is a blessing for a baby's health, and it's the ultimate source of nutrients for babies during the initial years." World Breastfeeding Week is Aug. 1-7. NH Jacksonville was the first hospital on Florida’s First Coast certified “Baby Friendly” by Baby Friendly USA. NH Jacksonville offers a wide range of support to all new parents, with all feeding choices. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
