A U.S. Marine with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis-Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, provides security during an embassy-reinforcement exercise at the U.S. Embassy in Bamako, Mali, Aug. 7, 2019. The Marines responded to a notional-complex enemy attack on the U.S. Embassy and rehearsed securing the embassy compound, safeguarding personnel, and treating simulated casualties. SPMAGTF-CR-AF rehearsed reinforcing the embassy in order to increase proficiency as an alert force and exercise crisis-response operations in support of U.S. interests.
