190808-N-WI365-1053 PHILIPPINE SEA (August 08, 2019) – Damage Controlman 3rd Class Eve Waterman, from Mountain View, California, locates hot spots using a Naval Firefighting Thermal Imager (NFTI) during a damage control drill in the main machinery room aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
