NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Aug. 1, 2019) Lt. j.g. Peter Sangenette, from East Rockaway, New York, USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) assistant security officer, center, and Lt. Jordan Kobs, from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Ford's assistant navigator, right, identify and assess navigational aids during an outbound harbor transit. The outbound harbor transit was used as a training exercise to identify hazards and bearings in preparation for Ford's return to Naval Station Norfolk.
