Capt. Nikkie Cossette, clinical nurse, 452nd Aeromedical Staging Squadron, offers a moment of encouragement to a freshman cadet before she departs the field medical clinic at Jack’s Valley Training Complex, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, July 26, 2019. Members of the 452nd ASTS worked collaboratively with squadrons from across the nation to provide medical care to over 1,000 USAFA cadets during an annual 10-day field training event as part of Basic Cadet Training. Approximately 60 patients sought treatment at the field clinic daily, and dozens more were treated for basic injuries on-site at one of the seven obstacle and confidence courses included in the training event. This is the third year Cossette’s squadron has participated in providing operation support for BCT. (U.S. Air Force photo by 1st Lt. Rachel N. Ingram).
