JOINT BASE CAPE COD, Mass. – Soldiers from the 1058th Transportation Company, Massachusetts National Guard, conduct a night base defense live fire exercise under the illumination of a green flare during the Combined Arms Exercise: Patriot Crucible, here, August 1st, 2019. This is the first time in twenty years that Soldiers have been able to conduct night fire with pyrotechnics and flares at Camp Edwards. Patriot Crucible is an intense two-week field exercise preparing army combat support units from across the North East United States to support major combat operations against a modern and professional enemy force.
