Shown in an old photo are crew members stationed aboard the Coast Guard-manned USS Glendale in Leyte, an island in the Philippines, in Dec. 1944, holding a captured Japanese flag. The Glendale, a Patrol Frigate, was originally based in San Diego and the crew participated in anti-aircraft and anti-submarines patrols.
