The Department of Defense Voluntary Protection Program accredited Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, California, with the Marine Corps' first ever VPP Safety Star Site award in 2008. Now MCLBB has won two of the top VPP awards; one for 2019 annual Department of Defense VPP’s Safety Achievement Award for an installation and one for the VPP Individual Safety Achievement Award as a Special Government Employee for Danielle Heinze. She now competes with other SGEs from around the world at the VPP national summit in New Orleans in August where she could be named the Special Government Employee of the Year.
