Soldiers with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery Regiment based in Chicago secure a Humvee and artillery weapon in preparation for a sling load operation during Exercise Northern Strike 19, July 24. Approximately 400 members of the Illinois National Guard are participating in Northern Strike 19 practicing a variety of offensive and opposition force scenarios including life-saving and life-sustaining rescue drills, route clearance operations, supply transportation in enemy territory and providing security alongside partner military branches and international allies.
