Tanya Maisonet places an oxygen tube on Senior Airman Chaley Dyer as they prepare for a wisdom tooth extraction at Joint Base Charleston - Air Base, April 11. During a wisdom tooth extraction the dentist gives the patient a local anesthetic which numbs the area where the tooth will be removed or a general anesthetic which makes the patient sleep through the procedure. A wisdom tooth is extracted to correct an actual problem or to prevent problems that may come up in the future. Maisonet is from the 628th Medical Group and Dyer is from the 628th Security Forces Squadron.
