SAN DIEGO (July 24, 2019) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Jordan Kaohu uses a firehose while performing a dewatering demonstration for an indoctrination class aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Damage control is essential for every Sailor aboard the ship in the event of a casualty such as a fire or flooding and refreshment training is given to Sailors during their indoctrination process.
