U.S. Navy Yeoman 1st Class and Command Fitness Leader Justin Delosreyes of San Diego, left, directs teammates from Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) Bangor during a physical training session at an outdoor track today.
Delosreyes said, "We did endurance exercises outdoors because I wanted to get people's heart rates up and make it a little different."
Delosreyes wore the Optional Physical Fitness Uniform (OPTU), released last year. He bought the uniform and has been wearing it for six weeks. He said, "When I lift weights the shorts are more comfortable and the shirt is more breathable than the previous uniform. . . . I like it better."
The NOSC staff exercises together every Wednesday morning as a group and requires no fewer than two additional fitness sessions per week on an individual basis.
"We provide time for people to stay in shape," said Leading Petty Officer Personnel Specialist 1st Class Johnny Rowland. (U.S. Navy Photo by Chief Mass Communication Specialist Roger S. Duncan)
