190703-N-DS741-1071 ARABIAN SEA (July 3, 2019) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Jacob Roeder, from Mount Washington, Ky., assigned to the deck division aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), cuts the stops on the highline during a replenishment-at-sea with the fast combat support ship USNS Arctic (T-AO 8). Leyte Gulf is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
