190720-N-WI365-1169 CORAL SEA (July 20, 2019) – Seaman Jarred Ross, from Dallas, Texas, heaves in a positioning line aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) during a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204). Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently participating in Talisman Sabre 2019 off the coast of Northern Australia. A bilateral, biennial event, Talisman Sabre is designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
