6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron maintainers remove engines from a KC-135 Stratotanker cowling July 3, 2019, at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Aircraft cowlings cover the engine and provide cooling, protection and drag reduction. Removing all four engines and closing the cowlings is a rare occurrence and requires special instruction from KC-135 engineers. This is the first time this type of maintenance has been performed at MacDill. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Frank Rohrig)
