ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 13, 2019) Lt. Eric Gerken, assigned to the U.S. Coast Guard Tall Ship Eagle (WIX 327), receives his Permanent Cuttermans pin from Capt. Matthew Meilstrup, Eagle's commanding officer, during a pinning ceremony on the ship's waist. Eagle is a tall ship used as a training platform for future Coast Guard Academy officers as well as a vessel for establishing and maintaining domestic and international relationships.
