NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 10, 2019) Sailors assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) air department simulate fighting an aircraft fire during a crash and salvage drill on the ship’s flight deck during a fast cruise. Ford is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
