NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 10, 2019) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Leandro Martinez-Perez, from Hialeah, Florida, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) air department, adjusts the strap on the proximity suit of Airman Quentin Rose’s, from Helena, Montana, assigned to Ford’s air department, prior to a crash and salvage drill on the ship’s flight deck during a fast cruise. Ford is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
