Staff Sgt. Chantel Ferguson provides guidance on a historic battle with Baily Yee, a rising senior a Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Colin Costigan, a rising senior at Wooster High School in Danbury, Connecticut, during the Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C, July 11, 2019. The Battles Won Academy is a part of the Marine Corps’ Semper Fidelis All-American Program, which recognizes young men and women who excel in athletics, but have also shown themselves to be leaders in the classroom and in their communities. Nearly 100 high school student-athletes were selected to attend the academy, which runs through July 14 and focuses on developing their self-confidence, discipline, teamwork, and honing the fighting spirit that embodies the Marine Corps.
