Vermont Adjutant General Col. Gregory Knight receives the Presidential Order of the Lion from President Macky Sall on July 4th, at the presidential palace in Dakar, Senegal. The Vermont National Guard and Senegal have been partners for eleven years in the State Partnership Program administered by the United States National Guard Bureau. The SPP's activities provide the Department of Defense with highly cost effective ways to strengthen alliances and attract new partners.
