Mineman 2nd Class Alnesugi Rivera, from Puerto Rico, assigned to Mine Countermeasures Squadron, Detachment 1, embarked aboard littoral combat ship USS Independence (LCS 2), digs a hole in the sand to find buried puzzle pieces at the final challenge station of the 1st Annual LCS-2 Amazing Race. Three teams of three sailors from Independence and MCM 1 raced around Naval Station Mayport enduring physical and mental challenges at different stations in the same fashion as the popular television show “Amazing Race.”
