Electronics Technician 1st Class Michael Neville, from Cave Junction, Ore., left, Mineman 2nd Class Alnesugi Rivera, from Puerto Rico, middle, and Mineman 1st Class Jeremy Merry from Ark City, Kan., all assigned to Mine Countermeasures Squadron, Detachment 1, embarked aboard littoral combat ship USS Independence (LCS 2), flip a tractor tire at the strength and endurance challenge station of the 1st Annual LCS-2 Amazing Race. Three teams of three sailors from Independence and MCM 1 raced around Naval Station Mayport enduring physical and mental challenges at different stations in the same fashion as the popular television show “Amazing Race.”
