A Sailor's son patches a ruptured pipe, Aug. 26, during a damage control olympics display for friends and family members on the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Damage control olympics host events such as pipe patching, hose handling, water bucket relay races and various other events to test damage control team reaction times. During the transit across the Pacific Ocean, Stennis is hosting a Tiger Cruise for friends and family members. Stennis is returning to the United States after a 7 1/2 month deployment promoting peace, regional cooperation and stability and supporting the global war on terrorism.
