Junior Leaders is part of the annual exercise, Peacekeeping Operations-Americas, conducted between U.S. Army South and the Chilean Joint Staff. Students from 17 participating countries began in classroom studies, learning about UN peacekeeping doctrine and moved on to small team training to build trust and teamwork. Peacekeeping operations are the cornerstone of the UN and provide security and stability to four continents and more than 15 countries. Peacekeeping is a way to help countries torn by conflict, or natural disaster, create conditions for sustainable peace.
