Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Oscar Cruz, assigned to a U.S. Marine Corps training team, assists a member of the Belize Defense Force with executing the proper steps for a controlled fall during small unit tactics training at the Price Barracks. Task Group 40.9 is deployed under the operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command (NAVSO) for the Global Fleet Station (GFS) pilot deployment to the Caribbean Basin and Central America. This deployment is designed to validate the GFS concept for the Navy and support NAVSO objectives for its area of responsibility by enhancing cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services and improving operational readiness for the participating partner nations.
