190621-N-UP025-053 SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 21, 2019) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One (EODMU1) held a change of command ceremony June 21 at Naval Base Point Loma in San Dieo. Cmdr. Brian Reitter relieved Cmdr. Jeremy Wheat as commanding officer of EODMU1. EODMU1 provides operational EOD capability to include locating, identifying, rendering safe, exploiting, recovering, and disposal of all explosive ordnance including chemical and nuclear weapons. U.S. Navy EOD is the world's premier combat force for countering explosive hazards in support of Navy, joint, interagency and coalition commanders across the full range of military operations.
