JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO - FORT SAM HOUSTON - (June 21, 2019) Aviation Warfare Specialist 2nd Class Joshua Young of Bandera, Texas, assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Georgetown, was promoted to the rank of petty officer first class in America’s Navy by Cmdr. Nicholas Gamiz, commanding officer, Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio during a frocking ceremony held at NRD headquarters. Young enlisted in America’s Navy in 2012 after graduating from Bandera High School. Prior to becoming a recruiter in 2018, Young served as MH-53 Sea Dragon Helicopter crew chief. Pinning on his new insignia was his father, Ray Young. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
