JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON - (June 14, 2019) Tiffany Collins of Chicago, received a direct commission as an ensign in America's Navy at the headquarters of Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio. A 2018 graduate of Western Governors University and 2016 graduate of East Coast Polytechnic Institute. Collins will attend Officers Development School in July with follow-on service as a nurse at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Administering the oath was Lt. Amy Zabel, a medical officer programs recruiter, assigned to NRD San Antonio. Joining Collins during her commission ceremony were here three children, Callista, Douglas, and Zinnia. By the very nature of their duties, Navy nurses quickly rise to the top of their profession. They provide care, not only for military servicemembers and their families, but also for people in need around the globe. Working with a team of talented colleagues united by a common mission, Navy nurses have the opportunity to educate, lead and shape policy within Navy Health Care.
