Capt. Justin Sato, 204th Airlift Squadron pilot, reviews mission details on a C-17 Globemaster III June 17, 2019, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Hundreds of Soldiers were airdropped by a formation of aircraft from Canada, Italy, Spain, NATO and the U.S. for exercise Swift Response 19. Members of the Hawaii Air National Guard temporarily relocated to Europe to participate in the multinational exercise, Swift Response 19. The annual training event is led by U.S. Army Europe and entails a series of airborne operations in Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania from June 13-25. Swift Response allows allies to connect – personally, professionally, technically and tactically – to create stronger, more capable forces during times of crisis.
