Pfc. Joshua Zingmond of Company D, 202nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, from Fort Lewis, Wash., uses a baton to take down Cpl. Austin Lupercio of the 543rd Military Police Company during Non-Lethal Weapons Certification training Aug. 31 at Camp Taji, Iraq. Immediately prior to the takedown, Zingmond was sprayed in the face with pepper spray. The three-day non-lethal weapons training included tasers, flash bang grenades, riot control techniques, and non-lethal ammunition firing. The training gives Soldiers an alternate to using deadly force.
