"On 18 April 2017, the Fort McCoy NCO Academy went on it’s annual staff ride, this year we visited the Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville, WI. The two guides, retired service member Kirk Rodman and retired service member Skip Klabon were passionate in showing each memorial piece as they retold each story behind the memorial artifact. The site was beautifully designed and the grounds are replanted yearly by volunteers. The guides at the Highground instructs everyone to lay on the mound of sacred dirt brought by many people to remember their loved ones.
