A Texas Army National Guard paratrooper assigned to the 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade conducts a static-line jump on a C-17 Globemaster III, June 14, 2019, over Boboc Drop Zone, Romania. Hundreds of soldiers were sequentially airdropped by other aircraft from Canada, Italy, Spain, NATO and other U.S. units. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army Contingency Response Force in Europe, capable of projecting ready forces anywhere in the U.S. European, Africa or Central Commands' areas of responsibility. The operation was practiced for exercise Swift Response 19, a multinational training event that highlights the inherent flexibility of ground and air forces to rapidly respond to crises.
