STARKE, Fla., (June 12, 2019) Mineman 1st Class Marion House, from Rochester, N.Y., assigned to the Freedom-class littoral combat ship USS Indianapolis (LCS 17), reloads a M2A1.50-caliber machine gun during a weapons exercise at Camp Blanding Joint Training Center in Starke, Fla. The littoral combat ship is a highly maneuverable, lethal and adaptable ship designed to support focused mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, and surface warfare missions. LCS integrates new technology and capability to affordably support current and future mission capability from deep water to the littorals.
