Spc. Michael Gonzales, an aid station medic with 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, a 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division asset, provides aid to a simulated casualty, March 21, at the Medical Simulation Training Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., during scenario-based training, March 20-22, that pushed Gonzales and other 2nd Brigade medics to work under pressure one last time before the brigade deploys next month to Afghanistan. The exercise allowed the brigade's senior medics, who have deployed to combat, the chance to work out the kinks for those medics still relatively new to the Army.
