Spc. Caleb A. Roberts, Hattiesburg, Miss., of the Waynesboro-based Detachment 1, 3656th Maintenance Company, competes in the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 2012 Best Warrior Competition, held, March 21-23 at Camp McCain, Miss. Roberts completed the 6-mile road march with a first-place finishing time of 1 hour, 57 seconds, while wearing a pack weighing over 40 pounds. One of nine in the competition, each soldier challenged a wide range of events designed to evaluate their Army aptitude. Events also included a written test, Army Physical Fitness Test, M4 rifle and M9 pistol qualification, Engagement Skills Trainer, land navigation, combative competition, obstacle course and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Interview Board.
