Joseph Gaskill, outgoing commanding officer of the Coast Guard Maritime Force Protection Unit (MFPU) Kings Bay, with the Meritorious Service Medal during a change of command ceremony. Cmdr. Christopher Culpepper relieved Gaskill as commanding officer of MFPU Kings Bay. MFPU Kings Bay is responsible for the protection of U.S. Navy ballistic missile submarines while surfaced and transiting U.S. territorial waters.
