190612-N-AT530-1125 BALTIC SEA (June 12, 2019) U.S. Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and Spanish Marines, assigned to 2nd Batallón De Desembarco, Brigada De Infanteria De Marina (2nd Landing Battalion, Marine Infantry Brigade), exit the well deck of the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) on a landing craft utility (LCU) during Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) 2019. BALTOPS is the premier annual maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic Region, marking the 47th year of one of the largest exercises in Northern Europe enhancing flexibility and interoperability among allied and partner nations.
