U.S. Marine Corps MSgt. Luis Macias, Division Combat Skills Company operations chief, speak to reporters during Exercise Steel Pike 19 on Camp Lejeune, N.C., June 11, 2019. Scharfen and other Marines in the DCS acted as members of the opposing forces to provide realism to the exercise. Exercise Steel Pike 19 provided an opportunity for 2nd Marine Division to work with the 2nd Marine Air Wing.
