A Marine posts security during rehearsals here March 7, 2012. The rehearsals were conducted in preparation of a two-day field training exercise. The Marines in the rehearsals are from Combat Logistics Regiments 35 and 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, here to conduct exercise Forest Light 12-2, a bilateral combined command post and field training exercise between elements of 3rd MLG and the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment.
